Tikkun Olam

--

The basic premise of Tikkun olam is to do something with the world that will not only fix any damage, but also improve upon it.

If you have helped just one other person in this life to become self empowered. Helped them to sustain themselves, their family, their communities, or positively impacted society at large in a non-self serving manner. Well that’s huge and a great form of wealth.

It’s always wonderful to receive and / or share one’s abundance, but kindness, compassion, connecting people to opportunities are currencies of their own.

I don’t care who you are or how awesome your life looks. If you’re on this earth, you’re dealing with your own stories of personal growth and evolution. Let’s face it, life can be challenging. It takes courage to follow your curiosity and intuition when all you have is just that.

As Steve Jobs famously said, “You can’t connect the dots looking forward,” Jobs said. “You can only connect them looking backward. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something — your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life.”

My wish for us all in the year ahead is to be kind to ourselves, our planet, and to one another.
